Better to wear out shoes than sheets.

In 1951, James Duthie, a deaf factory worker from Aberdeenshire cycled 3,000 miles from his home to the Arctic Circle and back again. Twelve years in the making, this film, made for both the deaf and the hearing, is a poetic investigation of this extraordinary man and the community that shaped him.
